McDonald's

I worked for McDonald's two years ago for all of one month. I absolutely am addicted to Mickey D's Sweet Tea, and I get cravings for their all-white-meat nuggets. However, I intend to never set foot inside a McDonald's ever again. From the American Family Association:

"McDonald's: those opposing SSM motivated by hate

July 10, 2008

Throwing out any pretense of being neutral in the culture war, McDonald's has taken up the rhetoric of gay activists, suggesting those who oppose same-sex marriage (SSM) are motivated by hate.

AFA has asked for a boycott of McDonald's restaurants because of the company’s promotion of the gay agenda. AFA asked McDonald’s to remain neutral in the culture war. McDonald’s refused.

In response to the boycott, McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman suggested to the Washington Post that those who oppose SSM are motivated by hate, saying "...hatred has no place in our culture." McDonald's has decided to adopt the "hate" theme used by gay activist groups for years.

Whitman went on to say, "We stand by and support our people to live and work in a society free of discrimination and harassment." Mr. Whitman has intentionally avoided addressing the reason for the boycott. This boycott is not about hiring gays or how gay employees are treated. It is about McDonald's choosing to put the full weight of their corporation behind promoting their agenda.

McDonald's donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in exchange for membership and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress in support of same-sex marriage.

McDonald's CEO Jim Skinner said the company will promote issues they approve. "Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world...and we do." "

Thought of the Day

If fairy tales had been written by liberals, Little Red Riding Hood would be a child, stifled with her grandmother's ridiculous rules and constraints, suffering from ADD. Her folly would not be that she disobeyed her grandmother (who, by the way, was a controlling, out of touch, gun-toting, religion-clinging REPUBLICAN), but that she destroyed a natural wildlife habitat! Picking wildflowers! Shameful. Also, she forced others into animal cruelty, killing an endangered species. After all, how many wolves do you see that walk upright, talk and can dress themselves? Of course, the victim of the story then would be the wolf. The moral of the story would be: VOTE DEMOCRAT!

Obama's Interpretation of 2nd Amendment Rights

If Obama's recent comment on Rural Americans clinging to religion and guns as a crutch didn't clue you in on what he thinks of your 2nd Amendment Rights, maybe you should look at his website. Find it under Issues: Additional Issues: Sportsmen: Read the Full Plan, the website spells out exactly what Obama thinks of guns and what they are for. "Barack Obama believes the Second Amendment
creates an individual right, and he greatly respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms. He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns for the purposes of hunting and target shooting. He also believes that the right is subject to reasonable and commonsense regulation." So if Obama is elected President, the leader of your country would believe you have no right to use a firearm to defend yourself, your home, or your family. Communism here we come. Great Britain has a similar take on guns; they allow you to have a gun for sport: target practice or hunting. However if you dare to use that gun in your defense you'll be thrown in jail like a common criminal. Britons are encouraged not to resist, but to call the police. Is that where America is headed? Did we not fight a war so that we would not be held to the same ridiculous regulations?

English Literature is a Disguise

After spending my entire spring semester reading pornography disguised as English Literature a la English Composition II, I wondered if my teacher was merely lazy and incompetent, or if she was promoting an agenda. The small community college I attend is far from being considered liberal; lazy would be a better term. It's not that school officials and teachers want to promote a liberal, politically correct agenda, it's  just that they don't care enough to actually fight it. If the textbook says that you have to use gender-neutral terms so as not to offend feminists, homosexuals, and the habitually offended, they don't question it. They don't examine if it's right or wrong. They accept what they are handed and don't give it a second thought. However, after an entire semester of reading trash with no point accept to accept one group or another (the original publishing date of our textbook was in the 1960s, so the Black civil rights and feminist stories were the main topics). We were also required to read Holiday Season/Love at the End of the Year by Michael Knight. This book had a more recent publishing date, so it promoted a more modern agenda: accept homosexuals, teens and young children exploring sexuality is just fine, breaking up a family is OK if there is a really good reason for it (a reason like 'there isn't a spark anymore'). Of course there had to be minority characters in the book. An old black woman babysat the two kids of a couple who went out to a New Year's Eve party, a Hispanic woman charmed everyone and made all the men lust after her, a homosexual couple with a large age difference struggled to get past obstacles. The book was nothing more than trash and propaganda rolled into on sickening heap. This is what we were required to read. As I said, I'm not sure if my teacher was lazy or was trying to push an agenda on her students. I tend to lean toward the first because of other actions she took in the course. However, whether it was laziness or something else, the fact remains that my classmates and I spent an entire semester learning nothing but how to be politically correct.

A Brief Introduction

I am a college sophomore residing in Georgia. I am very strongly opinionated. I will comment on local politics, college politics, and things that are just bothering me. I am pro-life, pro-gun, pro-homeschool, pro-South, pro-states rights, pro-constitution, pro-family, and very strongly anti-big-government. I am on an anti-English-Literature-courses-being-used-to-advance-propaganda campaign right now. Yes, I do like to use dashes. This is a long enough ramble to qualify as an introduction. Up next: More on English Literature as a disguise.
